**NEW ARTICLE**NEW ARTICLE**
March was a busy month for our portfolio managers, Miton Optimal - as well as winning best in sector recognitions and the best overall portfolio at the prestigious Lipper awards and speaking at the series of MBMG and British Chamber of Commerce events in Bangkok, they also produced an extremely thought provoking article about the potential problems facing the US Dollar and the US economy and a major shift in the balance of global economic power. Whats Happening ?
After 3 successive years of producing the most accurate market forecasts, 2003 was the year when we changed the status of our annual 'year ahead' prophecies to focus on how the investments that we recommended at the beginning of the year would actually perform compared to the leading managed portfolios available from the larger fund management groups. The results proved interesting. In the end there wasn't a great deal between all of the other money managers that we surveyed, although our main satisfaction derived not from matching or beating the larger institutions, but at doing so at very much lower levels of volatility and downside risk. To find out who got it right in 2003 click here for the best and worst forecasts of last year. Last year is, of course, history already. To find out what will happen in what's left of 2004 click here for our updated market forecast survey.

The Sage of Wellington
For yet another year, MBMG remains Asia's best
performing investment advisor. This is, in no
small part, attributable to the considerable
success of our portfolio advisor, Scott
Campbell. Scott has now
been the leading manager of actively or dynamically
managed global portfolios for the last 6 years,
is rated as a 5 Star manager by S&P, and is
heralded by Lipper Leader as being among the
exceptional managers who deliver consistent
performance and offer high levels of security
and consistency. Admittedly his profile isn't
as high as some managers who spend their time
either constantly seeking the publicity of appearances
on CNBC, or marketing their funds to potential
investors. The institutions that make up his
clients recognize that his time is all spent
actually managing his clients' money, not hawking
his wares around the various road shows and
media. This is perhaps just one reason why he
has outperformed everyone from Mark Mobius to
Warren Buffet over the last 6 years. MBMG's
clients have been among the major beneficiaries
of this, and our client assets as a result now
exceed US$ 60 Million for the first time.

An Alternative To Traditional Term
Deposits
It is well-known that bank deposits have fallen
to levels that for many investors are the lowest
in living memory. What isn't so well-known is
that viable
alternatives exist. What
is even less well-known is that MBMG's preferred
offshore jurisdictions offer investors and savers
the highest levels of investor protection; not
only safer than jurisdictions like Thailand,
but safer even than the UK or the US systems.
Offshore
does mean safer.

With Profits Or Without ?
The UK Press continue to fuel the debate that
has been raging for some time about the relative
merits and drawbacks of with profits investment.
Much of this comment has missed the point. Click
here to see the research
paper that comes up with the staggering news
that With Profits is not a good thing or a bad
thing per se, but simply an investment choice,
that is suitable for very many investors. Good
With Profits funds are quite definitely a good
thing, bad ones aren't.
